This one showed up on a couple of other forums in progress, but since I am now the proud owner, it was time to show it off here.
Tai tried a little something unusual, in forging the tang horizontally. It's an old method that is rarely used, and it adds a lot of interest.
Couple that with some simple filing and a pleasing blade shape and it makes for an unusually engaging piece.
Tai also smelted the glass for the 'hippy bead' and so that gives it even more character. One little thing that makes me smile is the jingle of the ring--it resonates along the hardened blade and is louder than it would appear. The blade acts as a tuning fork to it.
Nuthin' crazy about the image. Just some simple inlays on a pleasing background.
Thanks for lookin',
Coop
