This one showed up on a couple of other forums in progress, but since I am now the proud owner, it was time to show it off here. :)

Tai tried a little something unusual, in forging the tang horizontally. It's an old method that is rarely used, and it adds a lot of interest.

Couple that with some simple filing and a pleasing blade shape and it makes for an unusually engaging piece.

Tai also smelted the glass for the 'hippy bead' and so that gives it even more character. One little thing that makes me smile is the jingle of the ring--it resonates along the hardened blade and is louder than it would appear. The blade acts as a tuning fork to it. :)

Nuthin' crazy about the image. Just some simple inlays on a pleasing background.

Thanks for lookin',

Coop

I love integrals and I love Tai Goo's work -so you know I'm gonna be nuts about this piece! What a sleek, elegant and simply beautiful little knife. The horizontal tang gives it a unique look. Enjoy it Coop, and thanks for letting us enjoy it as well.

Congrats Jim, what a beautiful knife.

Coop,

Just absurdly nice! I LOVE everything about it!

The only defect is that I don't own it!

BTW, what are the dimensions?

Best,

Peter

Tai emailed me the other day and said he's getting ready to start on mine. When it's done we can get together and compare our topsy turvys :D

Excellent pic, as always, Coop. The background is perfect.

That is beautiful. I have two of Tai's "rougher" Bush knives and really want one of his clean integrals. And that is a great example of one!

SCORE!!!!!! :D

Nice, Coop.........the pics, too, of course. ;) :)

Thanks guys. I appreciate it, and I am sure Tai does, too. :)

9" OAL Peter.

Derrick, I look forward to yours! Cool.

a piece like that makes joyous tears well in my eyes..just perfect!
in good health Coop

The knife is no longer in my hands.....

I sent it out to Sandy Morrisey for his version of a sheath. (I could feel STeven Garsson's vibes pointing me there... ;))

News at 11....

That would be a tough one to see go -- even if it was just coming right back.

You scored big-time on this piece. I keep coming back to drool over it.

Magnificant and very unusual piece ! :) In other words. . . .dat's some cool sh*t ! :D

Congrat's Coop !

I just did not know that anyone could be as good as he is---Perfection is a word that I seldom use as perfection is a seldom achievement. However, I find that the only way to describe this knife is to use just that term, with enthusiasm. To see it in Coop's photographs is a pleasure, to hold it in your hands is an experience. ---Sandy---

Remember, a sheath is clothing for a sexy lady! Don't dress her in a burlap sack, and by all means, don't let her go through knife life naked. :)

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

I say that because Sandy has delivered a wonderful package back to me with a VERY fitting sheath. It has some beautiful Western scrolls and does the knife 'justice'... ;)

Sometime this weekend I will show it off. Till then...

Coop

Thanks, STeven. I needed prompting and I am plenty satisfied. :)

Thanks, Tom Mayo. Your post is VERY revealing in its own simplicity!

I gave Sandy the freedom to work his artistry as needed. Tai is from Tuscon, so a little Western scroll certainly fits the bill, and the dangling clip carries the 'dangling' theme all the way...! Great job on the coloring. :)

Final single image of knife and sheath at an angle that allows one to understand the construction. Nice.

Thanks to all!
