I have a Tormek Supergrind 2005 and want to do some lite reprofiling with a Diamond Wheel. Would the 360 coarse grit be good for that or should I use the finer grit? Also, will the tool bar be parallel with the wheel grinding surface? I know with the stone I have, I have to flatten it. Thanks for the help.

I have a CBN wheel for my T8 and I purchased the 600 grit. With light pressure you can touch up edges or use more pressure to do a complete reprofile. With one wheel you can do both.
There is a bit of play in the tool rest so the tool bar might be a little off plane from the wheel surface, but not enough to cause operational issues. Just a suggestion... before
purchasing a diamond wheel take a look at the Spartan 10" x 2" wheels for Tormek. About half the price with very good results...

Do you use the wheel with additive in the water?

I run the wheels dry with a small towel under the wheel to collect the dust. With the slow 90 RPM of the wheel the dust just falls below the back of the wheel and not dispersed broadly. With the slow RPM of the wheel there is no heat build up.

Well, thanks for your help. I called about the CBN wheel and was told, do not use it with water. Since I really do like using water to capture all the dust, I decided to go with the fine Tormek diamond wheel. Yes it's more $, but at the rate I use the Tormek, it will be a lifetime purchase. Thanks again.
