Anyone use cost savings alternatives to the Tormek Dressing Stone?

$20 (this price includes Tax and Shipping) from Grizzly...

Grizzly T24707 - Wheel Dressing Stone For Slow Speed Grinders
https://www.grizzly.com/products/Grizzly-Wheel-Dressing-Stone-For-Slow-Speed-Grinders/T24707

Update: I went ahead and ordered the Grading Stone from Grizzly. The box says it is a "scheppach"(manufacturer) / "Steinpräparierer 200" is the model stone. I think that Steinpräparierer means Stone Grader in German? and 200 is the model stone I would guess. I would say it looks almost identical to the Tormek where one side is more course and the other is very fine. Definately a cheaper alternative if you want something that matches the Tromek stone almost exactly.

Hi,
Search "diamond dressing tool" set price range for $0 to $5, pick the highest rated seller with fastest shipping time, the end ;)
update: also, only dress as needed, not to change grits ...
you're looking for a little t-handle safety razor looking thing

The diamond dressing tool changes the grit of a Tormek wheel? I think we are thinking of different objectives.

“The stone dresser is used to clean the grinding wheel when it is loaded with metal fillings. It can also be used to adjust the grit of the wheel to approximately 220 or 1000.”

The tormeks or grizzly wheel dressing stone is 2 sided
they advocate
you dress your coarse 220 wheel with 220 side, you get 220 grit action
you dress your coarse 220 wheel with other side you get "1000 grit" action
but
See some very good thoughts on that
Tormek T-4 page2
CliffStamp: I am still a little skeptical of this process, as for example imagine if you tried to market that for benchstones :
-sell a 200 grit benchstone
-sell a conditioning stone
And recommend the same procedure be used for it.

Tormek T-4 page1
cKc: ... on a tormek dressing the stone coarse, I could get through 100 knives in an hour, and dress it fine and do then do the hundred and finish them in 2-3hrs if I was pushing myself.. but lets just say, I could turn over the 100 knives finished in a day..

The little T handled safety razor diamond dressing tool can be used on benchstones ;)

Bucketstove,
I assume that you have a Tormek? I have an old Jet with a Tormek wheel. I have the Jet diamond wheel truing device.
I’ve have wondered about these two sided stones if they really make a difference, but have just basically followed the Tormek instructions for sharpening.

No i do not have a Tormek.
And yes, diamonds will dress/scratch the wheel.

A Lansky coarse or fine diamond hone can be lightly touched to the wheel's surface to change the wheel from coarse to fine and vice versa. Occasionally I used the Tormek truing tool to dress the wheel.

The box that the Stone Grader came in shows a picture of the two scheppach wet sharpeners and their model Tiger 2000S and Tiger 2000.

I paid full shipping price for one Stone Grader which was almost the same as the price for the stone. You could buy more than one and reduce shipping cost per item. As shipping only increases slightly the more you buy.

Living in Southern California, I paid..
12.95 for the stone
4.99 for Estimated Shipping/Handling
2.00 for Additional Shipping
1.00 for tax

Link: I found it on the scheppach website, it is part 89490707
after above webpage opens click optional accessories
