Not anything about knives unless it heads for my shop but its worth posting I think. Wasn't sure where so here is as good as any I guess..
This is an interesting study of wall clouds and tornados. Don't see em this well usually. Its usually so dark you can't really make out the funnels this well but this is a once in a life time video. Live from Oklahoma last evening. (May 24th 08)

Ever since channel 9 put the digital camera on the chopper some of the pictures have been amazing. Two years ago when they first did it the tornado SW of El Reno was the first where the rotation was backwards to normal tornados. At least no one was killed this time and damage was minimal. Mike

Looking at the video, the people on Fox News don't understand just how common this type of coverage is, here in Oklahoma. This is something we are used to, and enjoy watching... speaking for myself and my family, of course.

The pilot's name is Mason Dunn. He has been with KWTV for a long time. He's a great pilot, and he gets in there close to the tornado. According to news reports, on Jan. 18, a deer lost her footing on a frozen lake and couldn’t regain it. Dunn quickly, and brilliantly, swooped in low and used the strong wind from his rotor to blow the deer across the ice and back to shore. Following a brief pause, the deer sprang to her feet and ran off into the nearby woods. He won an award from PITA for that little stunt.

Here, he talks about the tornados sucking at his helicopter at times. THAT'S spooky!

The meteorologist's name is Gary England. The best there is. And he has the awards to show it. Including two Emmys. He was the meteorological advisor to the movie "Twister", and played his own character. He has worked with radar engineers and helped develop advances in radar design and software design. He was the first meteorologist to obtain and use Doppler radar. His latest powerful weather radar is called "MOAR". Pronounced, "Mow-are". MOAR stands for... are ya' ready for this?... Mother Of All Radar!

Here is the rather sparce info from Wikipedia about Gary...

We are fortunate enough to have the best meteorologists in Oklahoma. They HAVE to be good to work in this environment! We have more tornados per square mile here than any place on earth.

Well, most of our meteorologists are good. We have one on KFOR-TV who we call "Chicken Little". His name is Mike, and he's always running around the studio saying "The sky is falling. The sky is falling... we're ALL gonna' die"!!!

Thanks for all that Jim. Did not know that about Gary. Great stuff!
