Is their any other brands of knives outside of kershaw that use the speed assisted torsion bar with the index open mechanism ? I really like the action verses the thumb studs.I picked up a scallion 1620 partially serrated, but find it to small.

Have you tried a Kershaw Boa? You should find that large enough. SOG is now manufacturing a line of assisted knives. I haven't tried one yet, but you will find posts here from people who have.

The patent in held by Ken Onion. Kershaw is the only licensee.

I recommend you try the Kershaw leek.

Another company with an assisted opening system is Camillus. Take a look at their Dominator or the Aftermath. Both are scarce but are in production.
