Hey Y'all,

I just bought a tomahawk made by Louis Tortorich but I can't get any info on him or his hawks.

This was one forged from a farriers rasp & decorated with leather (If I had posting rights, I'd put up a picture of it).

Can anyone tell me anything about his 'hawks or point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Open an account at any of the free picture hosting sites...that way you can post any pics you want.
I use photobucket.

I just searched and found out he goes by rocketmann here on the forums.:)

There ya go!

Louis, why don't you post a few pics of your hawks for us?

What materials do you use?

Is there one style you like more than others...spike vs camp vs throwers?

Hi Rocketman, That's the one! I bought it from Cousin Jack based on visuals alone. So far, everyone I've shown it to has liked it.

I was just wondering about the basics of this 'hawk like the edge hardness, if you meant for this to be a "thrower" and anything else you'd like to share about it, & your general philosophy about the tools you make. I bought this to be a real 'user', but now I don't know if I want to get it rusty.

use it beat it abuse it!! It is a tool after all..The handle was originally 19'' and it made a powerful chopper. Mark wanted the shorter handle for ease of carry, but I preferred it with the long handle.:D
