Here is one I've had on the bench for weeks. Its a 45 cal black powder pistol/folder. Tom Ferry did the engraving. Some here has seen it before over on Shop Talk. Thanks for looking.

That is absolutely outstanding Bruce.
As is the engraving. Did you do the checkering/carving
of the ivory or did Tom?
Do you always fire your pistol knives before delivery?

This is just jaw dropping beautiful!!! I'll second what ever Roger comes up with.

What a piece. May even be the Best. Knife. Ever. ;)

Congrats, Bruce. Commission?

That really is one of the finest looking things I've ever seen. I would enjoy owning something like that, without question.

Bruce, That is an outstanding piece.

Everything about it makes me want to hold it for a while a long while.

Thanks for allowing us a peek at your outstanding work.

Take care
Charles

If you have a look at the build-along thread Bruce posted in Shop Talk, you'll notice it's also assisted-open.

Phenomenal!

+1 on that sentiment. That is the most stunning creation I have ever seen! Every aspect of that is off the charts...design(love that cannon shaped barrel), damascus, carving, engraving....WOW!!

Congratulations Bruce and thanks for the pleasure of seeing Tortuga II.

I'm searching for a positive word or phrase that hasn't been used to describe that piece. How about stellar? Thanks for showing it off.

I just don't know what to say. I have thought it over and over, and I am speechless.

You-da-man Mr. Bump.

Thanks guys! I never really know where my stuff fits in. I'ver looked on the internet for a custom pistol/folder forum with no results.
There is a WIP thread in shop talk but leaves out allot of steps really. It does have an assisted opener under the left bolster and scale. In fact its had 3 or 4 assisted openers before getting one to work. Now it works so good I have to strengthen the thumb bob stopper. It has a full 6" blade and is hard start and hard to stop. Details. Its almost done though.
Again thanks for the kind words.
