I'm picking up some screws for some scales I'm doing next week..

What would you prefer to have on micarta scales for your beckers?

Slotted (screwdriver)

Torx

Allen

or??

Black, stainless, nickle, brass????

Thanks,

For MY project, it's stainless allens. (will be posting soon)

But for YOUR project it's up to you. Regular screw heads are easy to fix in the middle of nowwhere. (any SAK) Try finding a torx wrench in east bum #$&%.

Just saying. What ever fits your needs/uses.

But one of the things I like about Beckers, is you can change them real easy.
3 nuts and bolts. KISS. Keep it simple stupid.

Works for me.

I just put stainless slotted screws on my 2, 7, and 9. The stainless screws look much better to me and resist the elements better; and the slotted heads are much easier to tighten/loosen in the field. However, it's usually easier to find Allen screws in the right size; Home Depot didn't have the 5/8 in. screws and I had to get 3/4 screws and hit the ends with an angle grinder.
To sum up my response, however: stainless/slotted is the way to go.

Allen and stainless. It works. And it's good for you. Oh and don't forget the nylon lock nuts.

What? Phillips or slot! You can always find a screwdriver. Hard to find an allen or torx head when you might need it.
