I just stripped a screw on my knife, luckily a local gunsmith had pity on me but it made me realize my torx driver needs to be a bit better steel. This was a husky driver that I didn't have any issues but now I can see the driver is a bit deformed too. What do you recommend in the $50 or so category?

Wiha set. Either the driver style (like your husky) or my favorite the 90 degree style L-key Part # 363 HM7 gave me most of what I needed for knife torx. And they are tight, always!

Wiha is a great choice - I was able to break a Wiha T8 bit, but all in all they are great tools and they do not twist under torque like some of the lesser quality tools.

Craftsman makes a nice set of individual drivers (each with it's own handle like a screwdriver etc).

I am a huge fan of bondhus. They are really terrific tools. I use them everyday as an industrial mechanic and the only time I ever break one is when I get really stupid with something or use them for something I shouldnt. Even then they rarely break.

i was having real problems until i started using wiha brand torx bits, sold in single or sets.

Can't go wrong with either Wiha or Wera drivers.

I use an assortment of each in screwdriver and L-key form.

Got them online from KC Tools.

Bingo, kc tool catalogs will empty your wallet. I have wiha and wera drivers, screw, Torx, Allen, they are all quality stuff.

I have the sears set also, they are solid.
A guy with a picture of Luca Brasi for an avatar can probably break any Torx driver.
