Torx help!

I have been using the mini Torx set I bought from Lowe's, but it seems to strip out almost EVERY use. There is a lifetime warranty/free replacement, but it gets old driving up there and wasting my time.
Can someone point me in the right direction- I want a torx set that will at least tighten 2-3 pocket clips before needing replaced!! I know we can't deal spot--I am not asking for that.

Thanks in advance!

My advise dont try to torque it so tight use locktite and just snug screw . Blue locktite not red

I've been using Wihas for more than just clip replacement for a couple years now, and have yet to have one deform

Even good quality bits will deform when used for a lot of years.
I carefully remove the rounded off ends on my torx bits with a fine stone then remove the burrs with a stainless wire wheel in a die grinder. Just like new again.
Most of the trouble I have with torx is what seems to be low quality screws. The bit size tolerance is sloppy (even with new driver bits) and they are too soft, galling easily.

Boker actually sells a rebranded Wiha toolkit that is made just for messing around with knives and keeps everything in a nice compact little set. BladeHQ has it here, http://www.bladehq.com/item--Boker-Knives-Toolkit-Torx--8073, and I'm sure a few of the other sites that support Bladeforums do as well but BladeHQ was the first one to pop up on Yahoo when I searched for Boker Toolkit Torx Head. Just if you get one make sure you get the version I linked to that has the model number 09BO700 on it not 09BO701. The big river site has both and don't tell you what the difference is but the 701 only has very small Torx bits like 1 through 5 and the version I linked to has like 4 through 15 which is the one you will need for most any knife.

I got a nice set which I have used for years on many, many knives at Advanced Auto for $6.

It also helps if you apply heat before trying to loosen the screws. This way the loctite loosens up a bit.

I just picked up another new set this morning and the thing is already wasted. I moved my clip on my Spyderco to tip up. No locktite was used and the torque applied was with fingers.

I am looking into Wiha right now! Thx

Wiha and Wera. Thats what I use, been using them for about a year and I have never had them strip.

Wiha makes nice tools, but I bought a $10 Master craft set from Menards that's been working great.

Did anyone mention Wiha?

Seriously, skip the cheap torx drivers and spring for a good quality Wiha set. It always amazes me when people who don't blink at spending some serious coin on knives cheap out on the tools to maintain them.

If you want an in between the craftsman torx drivers seem to be of pretty good quality. I have never had a one strip (the tool or a screw) and they can be bought one at a time (as in you don't have to buy a set to get the one or two you need) locally for <$5 each.

I didn't have one that didn't strip on me. The T6 would strip almost every use. I would just grind it down to use it again, so my T6 would last maybe 2 weeks. Surprisingly it never damaged the screw.

+1K on this...I have never used anything but Wera and Wiha and I've never had an issue. The tools that come with the CRK Umnumzaan/Sebenza are Wera made. Good enough for Chris...good enough for me.

Lol. Wiha. Wera. Felo.

This is about the 4th post on this subject in the last couple months. Maybe we need to make a sticky?

Wiha makes a whole bunch of different types of torx drivers. I've got three or four different types around the house and workbench:
