Torx question

When did knife makers first begin using Torx fasteners. Who was the first to do so?

I think Benchmade was the first production company to use them, way back in the early '80's.

CRKT has used them for ages. I got back into knives in the early 1980’s. They had them at that point.

I can’t see CRKT being the leader on anything. Someone was probably doing it before that.
