I've been looking for a reasonably priced set of the smaller sized torx screwdrivers ever since I bought a CRKT Grey Ghost Mirage. Just found one at Radioshack .com. It costs $4.99 and the description is as follows:

Five drivers for Torx screws. Nickel chrome molybdenum alloy steel swivel
heads and torque bar. (Sizes: T6, T7, T8, T9, T10.)

Right now shipping is free, with no minimum! I'd seen a number of posts on this subject so I hope this is useful. Needless to say, Radio Shack has a bunch of other cool stuff as well.

SIFU1A, you hit the nail on the head. Sears is the place to go for those kind of tools. Almost all the little hand tools I have are craftsman, can't beat the exchange policy. Just walk up to the counter, say the head wore out, they let you just walk out the door with another one :)

Wiha is definitely what you want to use if you don't want to risk stripping torx heads. :)

I believe Josh at PVKnife was selling little kits of these, at least at one time (perhaps he still does), and billing them as "Everything you need to void your Benchmade warranty."

Only torx set I've seen at Sears is a six piece one which goes for $15 - the smallest driver is a T-10, which is useless for my needs. They also sell a 12 piece "Precison set" ($20) which gives you a T-6, T-7, T-8 and T-9, along with eight other screwdrivers which you've inevitably already got.

I like the little pocket set that BenchMade sells for about $19.95. It all fits into a small plastic holder which also serves as the handle for the tool. The holder even has a pocket clip on it.

That sounds like the one I was thinking of from Josh, yes.

Check Wal-Mart.

I needed a tiny screwdriver to fix my eyeglasses. I found a set of six small flat, phillips-head, and torx-head screwdrivers (T-6 and T-8) for only $0.64!

I know, they are cheap ROC crap, but they were 64-cents, and I needed the T-6 and T-8 drivers anyway. Thought I'd mention it.

I have to go with Mitch on this. I hate to spend cash when I do not have to, but after purchasing from Sears and Home Depot and stripping a few heads, I wish I had coughed up for the Wiha set first. Have not had a problem since using those. Those Wiha drives have actually been hardened. They have not deformed. My drives from HD and Sears do have some deformation. Yes they can be replaced easily, but in the particular case of these drives I would be replacing them often and easily :). (Contributing to the deformation is the fact that I do torque them down pretty tightly)

Just my two cents since I now own from 3 sources.
If you are going to be using them on knives with filed, plated or fancy screws please go with the Wiha set. They fit the screws correctly and do not leave marks (from a loose fit) that I have experienced with the less expensive drives.

The Wiha page was kind of confusing, or I'm being an idiot, or both. New baby = not much sleep.

Which set from Wiha would be of the most general use? Thanks.
