This is my second attempt on this Hossom inspired fighter, the Tosa. Jerry gave me some good input on my handles from the first one and I hope you guys can tell a difference. The blade is much better in my opinion. The grind line is very high and I maintained a good edge thickness thoughout the blade. The length is 12 1/4" overall with a 6" cutting edge. I made the choil bigger on this one too, so you can choke up on the blade and use your index finger there for fine cutting tasks. The blade is CPM 154 with a satin finish and the scales are black linen micarta. And of course the tang is tapered. This one balances perfectly on the forefinger. Weight is 11 ounces. (ST yours is next.)

First though for those of you who have never seen a Tosa, here is a beautiful female

Great Name...

Awesome Knife...

Props....

I like that you didn't feel the need to use super thick stock like we see of so many 'fighters'. To me, a fighter is not a 'survival' knife, and I think that in principle, it should be more like a razor and less like an axe.
Props for this knife! The Hossom influence is evident, and since I've always really enjoyed his lines and design, I'm really liking this one.
Good job:thumbup:

Thanks for you comments. I used 3/16" stock. A fighter needs to be light, but strong. The thickness of this knife is deceiving in that an inch from the tip it is still over an 1/8th of an inch thick. The grinds hide the thickness well. This also lets me have an edge thick enough to convex, and a convexed edge is not only sharp, but strong. Also, the tapered tang, takes off a lot of weight and helps with the balance. Thanks again for all the kind words from everyone. I appreciate it.

Saw this knife posted elsewhere and commented about how much I liked it. It is a very good looking knife that also looks like a workhorse.
