for those who have both... need to decide between 18" pen knife or BDC of same size. Which is the better ratio of clout to weight? Wish I could just buy both.:grumpy:

I've never handled either one, but for what it's worth I own a 10.5" 11 oz. BDC

and a 12" 16 oz. Pen knife.

The Pen knife is like a very compact hatchet that can do most knife chores too. I keep it near my tool box for work around the house and garden, and I would carry it backpacking to save weight.

I think the BDC would be a great EDC to impress others and impress yourself with a beautiful piece of work. That's if you can walk around with a belt knife where you live. In Chicago even your wallet is not for EDC.

If you want to open cans and use it as a pry bar, get a Pen knife.

I think the Pen might pack more of a punch, but I don't own either one so feel free to ignore me. You might also want to consider the 12" AK or CAK.

Due to indecision I will be looking at getting one of each in the future.
