Total newbie question

I know this is a makers forum, but I hope you guys don't mind helping me out.

I am changing duty stations in a couple of months and would like to make three of my old platoon mates knives as a thank you for all they've done for me/ with me. I'm thinking a Damascus necker or something small and "pretty" like that. I've done modifications to knives before, and have built a few guns etc. I'm not a pro, but I have some natural ability with tools. I'd love to do a complete build, but I simply don't have the time, tools or knowledge. Can someone please point me towards a kit that resemble's what I'm looking for? I haven't been able to find anyone offering a damascus kit. And of course, I'm on a budget...
