This old guy is interviewed in a Swedish newspaper and even though I do not know the question, the answer is brilliant. If I were to translate it, it would be something as follows: No, I don't have the internet, I have a Mora knife.I have no cards, no appliances, only common sense.

Regards Erik

When 9/11 happened communication services were disrupted all along the East Coast. Cell phones were not as ubiquitous as today. Google was three years old and X-box was new that year.

When a similar or worse event occurs again, like an EMP strike, the Gen Z demographic will be totally unprepared for life without their devices.

But those of us in the know will have plenty of tin cans and string on hand.

Don't forget the walkie-talkie, and the Dick Tracy x-ray glasses (to see if anyone is hiding behind the fence, of course) and decoder ring.. :D

I do pity all those who "grew up" without a lick of "common sense"... the fact that so many have to be warned that a fresh cup of to-go coffee may be hot, and a wet floor is slippery ... so sad ... :(

When the electrical power goes out here, the first thing I do is reach for the light switch so I can find my flashlight. LOL. I do have a Mora, however.

He's probably lead a much more tranquil life because of it. More things often equals more stress but the tendency today in 'advanced' societies is to actively force people to have a digital life. Going off grid or just being anon. is getting vey difficult and the more so as a cashless (control) society is becoming the desired norm in Scandiland :poop:

Not SURE I could survive & be happy with just a Morakniv though, but lots of knives and less of the other? Certainly :D
