Hey everybody, I took apart my xm-18 with 3 1/2" blade today to switch the scale. I got one of the textured carbon fiber ones. Anyway I saw this hole in the liner right under the lanyard hole. Just wondering what it's purpose is. A little weight reduction maybe? I did notice it seems to be the same diameter as the hole for the pivot. I'm sure one of you guys know. Thanks.

I believe it's a hole used to hold the piece in place during the machining process. Sebenza's have a hole for the same reason. Could be wrong on this, I'm sure others will weigh in with more insight than me.
