Touching up 94x/707 scales

While putting my 707 on the Edge Pro tonight, I managed to nick up the end of the handle since the base of the blade comes so close to the scales. Is there anything out there anyone uses for touchups on these aluminum scales? Besides putting a dab of sharpie on it to poorly hide it. :)

Does Benchmade do anything for the scales if you send your knife in? This knife has blade play that could be addressed also.

I have both of these models, and they both have scratches and rub marks. For me, it's part of their charm, you can tell that they've seen some honest use. Benchmade will replace the handles for you for a fee if it really bothers you.

Yeah I like the marks put on by honest use, but scuffs put on by accident from sharpening is annoying, at least to me...especially when it's bad enough to see shiny aluminum underneath. I'm not looking to have them replaced, but I'm curious what the fee is.

To me, sharpening is honest use.
I say this because this very thing happens to me:o
Have got fairly careful over time however. I will sometimes put a bit of tape on the scale for extra caution. And those 1/2" stones are great for that area.
Not a fix for your issue, but a bit of preventive is good for the future.
Cheers

Yep I learned to put some tape right there but too late lol.

I won't go into detail on the recurve that was ground on my blade from the factory though. Was a tad miffed about that one.

No need.
As much as I love BM's, the edges could be better. 10 of my 12 have needed work. But I am a sharpening junkie these days, so I welcome this in a strange way.lol

Unfortunately my mini grip had the same recurve ground into it, and my Ritter mini had an uneven grind that yielded some noticeably uneven bevels in the end. Still cuts, but I'll just grind on the low side a little more next time.
