Touching up a more recent, favorite knife in 12C27M

It is the afternoon before opening day of rifle season in CT and I am eagerly awaiting the 30 minute mark, before sunrise tomorrow morning.
Today I am finalizing my gear for tomorrow and just finished touching up my model 497, which I have grown very fond of over the past several years.
I wish Buck would revisit this steel, as I find it has great properties for a hunting knife used in the field.
It sharpens easy, reaches a very sharp state, holds a great edge and is corrosion resistant.
Love that 12C27M, it was a reasonably priced steel, which offered solid performance.
I wish it would show up more again in the Buck line up.
Is anyone else fond of this steel?

I only have a couple vantages in it maybe another knife.

cant think of it right now if i do...regardless......I like this steel also.

remembered it..I got a Buck kitchen knife. was a botm in that steel and blond streaked ebony handle. great kitchen knife, a favorite user.....

We have had 4 BOTM with that blade steel. I have the 3 chef knives and they all sharpen easily and maintain a good edge.
