Tough backpack for $50.00.

My chick's little girl wants me to get her a backpack that's tough like mine. She sees me slinging around stuff like Kifaru and Maxpedition. But I don't need to be buying a 10 year old girl a Kifaru pack anytime soon. What I'm looking for is a small to medium sized pack that's tougher than these walmart jansport jobs... but it doesn't have to be loaded with molle webbing and triple stitching for extreme environments. I want it to be tough and durable, with room for books and stuff. It'd be nice if it had a gear pouch on the front since she's diabetic and needs to keep certain things with her daily. And she doesn't want anything in that "Yucky" OD Green color that I have. It needs to be maybe blue or pink LMAO... so something that's offered in other than military colors. I'm kinda stuck because I only research the expensive bomb proof packs. I'm kinda clueless as to the $50.00 type. Help please.

You might take a look at the Sprint series from Osprey, my 8 yo has the Jib 35 and loves it. It has handled lots of abuse and Osprey has excellent customer service.

The Zip and Jet are more of a daypack and offer similar features to your packs w/o being "Yucky." Have fun!

I will highly reccomend the Grey Ghost Backpack from greyghostoutlet.com it is very tough. Offers a hydration bladder area and is comfy.

Thanks folks. I'll be sure to look into all of these. I did like that one Osprey... it had the criss-cross bungie cord to secure her jacket or sweater when not in use. Something I didn't stop to think about.
