Just thinking about how nuts we can be over our knives. Untill a couple years ago I didn't care if :

The blade was centered

Fit n finish

Lock up %

Sticky lock

And the list go's on

I have to take my hat off to all the excellent knife makers that put up with us.

Honestly, I think we've just driven up the prices on ourselves with it.
That and the secondary market, but that's a different issue.
Gotta say though, there have been some insanely good knives to come from this obsession of ours, and the makers that do manage to put up with us.
 
It's still a fair observation to make. I look at the tripe/garbage rehandled Moras/old kitchen cutters that I have turned out to indulge some creativity and I realize at that moment what the work of a real craftsman is worth. Thanks for posting.
