Tough decision here (for me at least)

Alright, my first thread. I'm going to get a new knife soon. I kinda want to get like a exclusive or limited edition folding knife. I have been eyeing the Benchmade mini-onslaught with the carbon fiber scales and blue anodized aluminum spacers that's selling on knifeworks. I know this knife is not going to last on knifeworks for very long. However, just today, my co worker showed me the Microtech select fire knives. I especially like the select fire model that has the blacked out hardware on Howe's Knife Shop.

Now, I have a tough decision. If I could get both of them at the same time, I would, but I can afford only one of these knives at a time. The price of the knives themselves is not a real concern for me (Benchmade mini-onslaught: $149.95, Microtech select fire black tactical: $259.00), but I will say that if I can save over a hundred dollars on a knife, I'll go for that, so the Benchmade does have the edge on that. But at the same time, I don't have a Microtech knife. I have checked out all the other Microtech knives and I do like the select fire the best. But I hear that Microtech is going to phase them out.

So I realize that both are not going to last very long on the market. Which leaves me to ask everyone reading this which should I go for first, the Microtech or the Benchmade and what are your preferences on these knives? So go ahead and have at it.

Do you value good customer service?
Do you want to support a business that proudly showcases their lack of ethics?
If the answers to both those questions are "no," go with the Select Fire. The design's kinda wacky, but other than the ridiculous thumbstud, I like it. Just pray that the knife comes perfect and stays that way.
If the answer to both those questions is "yes," I would find a knife other than the two you listed. I've handled the Onlaught in a store, and wasn't too impressed with the ergonomics. Not a fan of the looks, either. Still, that's just my opinion, and there are many people out there who love both the looks and the ergos.

I own both of these knives and I love them both in their own way.
MICROTECH SF:
The Select Fire is a very beautiful well made knife, but in my opinion Microtech's customer service is terrible. This knife comes with proprietary screws which cannot be adjusted. Overall the SF is an amazing knife and it comes sharper than any knife I've ever gotten out of box. The one thing that bothers me about the SF however are the thumbstuds, they definitely are not for everyone and I personally don't like them.

BENCHMADE MINI ONSLAUGHT:
The Mini Onslaught is a very amazing knife as well. Benchmade on the other hand has very good customer service in my experience.
I love the thumbhole and it is very smooth to open.
The mini onslaught is a bit more practical for every day carry use if that's what you're looking for.
It's much smaller than the SF when it comes to handle length and is less of a "tactical" blade. Although the handles are a bit bulky so if you don't like that the mini onslaught might not be for you.
Overall a very good knife for the price.

Select Fire is the better knife IMO. It's one of the most purely useful knives I've had. Different gripping options and all. Great blade profile too. Soon to be discontinued I think as well. Really just depends on how much you want to spend.

That's interesting to know that the mini isn't that comfortable to handle. On first looks, it would definitely not appear that way
