For trail guide work, I am looking for a small tough fixed blade ,light work will be taken care of by large Spydy or SAK.By looking at this forum I have narrowed it down to either Rat 4 or the F1,I'd like to know the Pros and Cons
of both.My problem is that I can't "feel" the knife until one of them gets to me . Please don't suggest other options
as it's taken me long enough to get my list down to two.Thanks.

Both the Rat 4 and the F1 are excellent knives.
The F1 is stainless, a little less maintenance, but a little more effort to resharpen.

If you aren't motivated by looking at them ( and, imho, the F1 will win ), simply buy the cheaper.

I really like the Fallkniven S1 I got. I was trying to decide between an F1 and an RAT-5, but decided to go for the "best of both worlds" decision
