Tough folder

Haven't had this folder, but have read some good things about it; Kabar Phat Bob. It is a Dozier design. In fact the Kabar Mule's also look like excellent "beat 'em up knives". Just google either one to find pics and description. Either can be had for undet the $60 budget you have set.

Spyderco Delica 4/Endura 4 (go with the saber-grind for hard use, not the full-flat grind). Lots going for it in the tough department: Proven lock-back design, the VG-10 blade steel has good edge retention and rust resistance, and the handle has embedded steel liners for torsional rigidity. As long as you don't abuse the knife, they should outlive you.

Kershaw Junkyard dog II. it is under your price limit, and it is a very nice, heavy duty knife with great ergos. the handle is great, and the blade is thick. spending $15 more will get you the composite version with the D2 Cutting edge. great knife, can't reccomend it enough.

What about Cold Steel 95FB Pocket Bushman? Just $24 on (( deal-spotting ))

I was able to pick up Cold Steel American Lawman for $51 shipped. I don't think you could find a tougher folder for that price. It is VERY solid.

I'd have to agree with any of the Cold Steel folders with their Triad-lock. Their lock & even their blade-steel is tough to beat for the price (If toughness/strength is the main issue).

Benchmade Griptilian 551 or 556. I've been carrying a mini-grip 556 for over a year now and I've beat the tar out of it and can't kill it.

cold steel american lawman. hands down. not the prettiest but will take the abuse.

Ka Bar "Phat Bob" It's tough and cool looking with the dark green micarta handles. Very comfortable.
Also, gotta recommend the old stand by...Spyderco Tenacious fully serrated. It'll cut ANYTHING.

How do you plan on beating it? Might determine whether you need a throw away or something better than that.
