Tough Jimping question for the "Old Schoolers"

Ok, now I have a question that is driving me crazy and I need the help of the really old school CRKers here. As we all know (well many of us know) CRK experimented with some wider jimping back in 2004 for about 6 months, maybe less. The jimping was much wider and much more aggressive. I was lucky enough to get a knife with it and I love it but it is at CRK right now have a SPA visit. Now my question is, does anyone out there think that is the EXACT same jimping that they put on the 25s? I keep playing mine back in my mind over and over again and until I got this c.f. 25 it really didn't click but I swear that it is the exact same.
Both are very aggressive, both are thicker and farther apart, and it seems to me that possibly they took that jimping from 2004 and slapped it on the 25s. I know that this proves nothing but I think that it is a cool fact if in fact it turns out to be true. When I get my knives back from CRK I will do a side by side analysis but in the mean time if anyone happens to have a Large or small Reg. from 2004 with that experimental jimping I would greatly appreciate your opinion on the matter. I think it would be really cool if CRK keeps ideas around for about ten years like that only to be used at a later time. Who knows what could be next? Possibly those lovely frame rails from the BG-42s and early S30V Large Regulars? Just a thought.
Anyways, pull out those old big CRK boxes and if anyone can supply us with a side by side picture I would greatly appreciate it. As I said, I will do it once I get mine back, but until then, I need some help from some of the CRK Old Schoolers. Thank you for your time and I am really interested to see if in fact it is the same jimping that is now put on all 25s?

I thought the 25 jimping was unique in having two different widths for the grooves. If you look at the 25 jimping it has both u-shaped wide and v-shaped narrow grooves. I thought that was what made it a new concept for CRK. Could be wrong?

You're correct. If you search for photos of the regulars with wide jimping, and then compare them to photos of the 25's jimping, you'll notice that they're different.

Yep. The 25's jimping was a newer style unused on previous Sebenzas. The wide grooved style was quite different.

Totally different, buddy. I'll snap a pic later, but the '04 wide jimping was really not very functional as compared to the new "asymmetric" jimping on the 25 which is quite grippy. It is an interesting and cool variant to have in your collection though. Bravo!

Nice thinking you are more observant than I am to have even thought of that! I had one of those 04s, should have not let it go.......

As Steve(Dallas STB) said they are totally different Ryan. I have a large regular with the older wide jimping. It's Much different than the

jimping on the 25. The 25 jimping is much more aggressive.

Thank you so much for clearing that up for me, I greatly appreciate all of your input. As I mentioned, I have an '04 but it is currently at the spa and ever since getting my new C.F. 25 I haven't been able to shake the idea but as you guys clearly proved they are quite different. Would still love to see those frame grooves come back though :).
