Touring a famous Bladesmiths shop, What Knife do you Carry?

I have loved knives ever since I can remember. My first knife was an Ulster Pocket fishing knife given to me by my grandfather when I was 5. My love of knives has grown to the point were I'm getting the equipment to start making them. So to my dilemma I have the privilege of meeting and touring a world class knife designer and Bladesmith's shop this spring. I am stymied as to what kind of blade to carry when meeting him? Local custom, fixed or folder, maybe one of his own designs?

Thanks
Joshua

I did a quick tour of Burger Knives (in South Africa) a few months ago when I was passing through the area. I had a Sebenza clipped in my pocket. Trevor recognized it immediately and asked to have a look at it and that started a 30 minute discussion (it helped I suppose that Chris Reeve didn't live too far away when he was still in SA) ... I think any knife maker will recognize and appreciate quality irrespective of who made the knife so I'd just go in with something decent. Someone else's knife will hopefully lead to an interesting conversation on different design philosophy, manufacturing methods, etc.

Don't bring any knife, because you want to have room for the one you get while you're there :D

Bring a knife that can be appreciated by anyone, has some class, but still usable.
Something used I'd think as well, but not too big so you have room for any knives that you may leave with.
Another option would be just to bring your most favored knife or knives.

Ask him to show you how to make a sword. He loves swords. Ask him can he get one started for you and he will help you get your fist one started. He is a nice guy and is always willing to help.

get a bunch of knives from a gas station and bring all of them. talk about how good they are and what a great factory edge they have on them the whole time. also, see if he will buy you lunch.

And say you can't imagine paying more than you did for those fine blades.
