May the 4th be with you!!
In celebration of FINALLY getting some Infi in my hands again.. one of my grails actually (the AD that i'll picture as soon as I can get outlook to work again via VPN ), and in memory of the BATAC, Basic 5, Assault shaker etc who have all made a willing sacrifice over the years for the greater good of the home finances..I give you the Tournament of Oink ..

All size blades are welcome, though smaller may have the advantage.
In honor of Mr B's open offers for competition..It doesn't matter who made your blade..join in if you want!..Please let us know the maker/manufacturer though!

Object of the game: to see how many metal bottle tops you can penetrate with the tip of your Infi/blade, before missing 3 times; unless in a bonus, each tab penetrated = 1 point.

Rules:
1) Your blade tip must be at least 12 inches above the bottle top before you go for your point(s), or it does not count.
2) If you miss 3 times, the game is over..tally your points you got before your third miss, and that's your final score.
3) You can play as many times as you want, but 3 strikes ends a particular game, and you have to start over.
4) If you go for a point, and the bottle top skips out on you..still counts as a miss..tip penetrations are the only way to get points, or to keep from being counted as a miss.
5) No more than 10 penetrations per metal bottle top, for single point attempts; you can however have as many penetrations as you want in a single tab IF using them in an Oinker bunus / Stacked top attempt.
6) A single game must end the same day or night you start it, no carry overs..
7) Be honorable..Keep track of how you compile your points..pics are always best means of quieting a fellow competitors challenge, though not required..

Oinker Bonus:
Stacked tab bonus..2 tabs = 4 points, 3 tabs = 10 points, 4 tabs = 20, 5 tabs = 50, 6 = 75, 7 = 100, 8 = 125, 9 = 150, 10 = 200..

You must have at least 2 points accrued before you can go for the "Oinker"
Here's an example of a "double stack oinker" (two tabs on top of each other):..
"Oinker" bonus is awarded when you place one tab on top of another and successfully penetrate both stacked tabs in a single stab (=4 points).
Here's the kicker.. If you go for an Oinker and miss.. you lose 1 point for every tab in the oinker stack you attempted, & it counts as 1 of your three strikes..only penetrations count.
Your Oinker bonus can involve up to 10 tabs in a single pile, but you can't attempt the oinker bonus with more tabs than already accrued points.Ex. if I have 2 points accrued, I can't go for a tripple stack "Oinker" ..but if I had 3 points accrued, I could..

Slurpy Bonus:
Automatic 10 point bonus if you can make it through your first 6 pack without missing 3 times; any additional points you get after the 1st six pack are also doubled, including any new Oinkers..

Oh yeah..as for the grand prize..

Saberman was kind enough to provide me a few 550 cord "6pack" knife fobs for my AD..I'll make sure the winner get's one of them ;).
If anybody else wants to sweeten the pot..feel free.

Post your picks so we can see your great blades, and show us those tabs beside your infi..
This Tourney will last one week, ending next Friday night @ 8p EST..

Please Note: As with any tournament, you play at your own risk..If you can't come up with a way to do this safely, without endangering yourself, or anything other than the bottle top & the chop block it's on..please don't play :D.

But… but… won't that void the WARRANTY - I mean the blade actually contacting metal, how can you think of such abuse???

Helmut..we might be forced to actually break out our strops, or oh no! maybe even a fine grit ceramic :-).. Welcome to The Forum btw.
If anyone engages a warranty over this..man..i dunno what to say except..man..i dunno what to say ;). Considering the car doors, and cinderblocks sent on to oblivion by the Hogs..I think this would be more of warm up exercise at best.

Inquisitor..hope you can too; that's gotta suck being away from her..but large models are welcome to the tourney as well, if that helps.

The one that's away is one of the two or three that would be ideally suited to this challenge... ;) Shoulda had a penetrator tip put on it, d'oh:foot:!

Updated to offer challenge to all, and upped the count for stabs per tab..you hogs better get in here..worthy challengers are approaching :-)
2 attempts so far..10 is my best score..going back out for another go..

AW MAN!!! Now this sound FUN!!! I'm gonna go buy some beer, superglue, paper towels and duct tape in preparation for the mayhem.

...

Sir Kd, welcome to the Tourney..you have the coolest signature line I've seen..you crack me up! No adhesives please ha, ha:-) btw...made it to 27..(5 singles, 3 double stacks and yes..1 tripple oinker..before my 3rd strike..gonna try hard before the folks with muscle memory get here and lay the smack down, or I run out of beverages ...Cheers!

Sir Garth, thank you for re-iterating the pre-reqs..safety first..no fun if we end up with holes where they shouldn't be..:foot:

BTW..I broke my own rules in not mentioning my trusty steed beforehand.. So that all know, until pics are posted..I have entered the Tournament of Oink with the Fabled..yes..the Green crinkled Busse Active Duty..if I fail Bossman, it is no fault of the AD, it is due to Heineken not keeping up their end of the bargain.."off to yonder field I go to win the Prize, though yet my own"..yes, that was on the fly, and in tribute to the AD..and the maker thereof...Let the Tourney Begin!! I challenge all ye fellow Blade nuts to make haste unto the Tourney of the Oink!!..snort.. snort.
Btw..the first notated tripple Oinker of the Tourney is on camera & coming soon..

Are the bottle caps suppose rest label side up or label side down? Or does it even matter?

Welcome to the Tourney, Sir Rok..whatever works for you..I found with the oinkers, better to stack them label side down..seem to stay in place better and don't skip out as much.
