I must disignate that I am a new member and I have a question concerning a knife that I own. It is a 2 blade switchblade (2 inch blades) sterling finish and has TOY FAIR / CHAMBER OF COMMERCE on one side and WASHINGTONS BIRTHDAY BANQUET 1926 on the other. I have never seen one like it at any shows, not that I have been to that many. I am a retired old fart with time to spare and I love collecting old cars, old gold coins, and young women. Any info on this knife would be appreciated.. tony d

I have one of the knives too and wanted more info. Did you get any response? I can't seem to find anything about it except for your post.

I'm adding my voice to this thread. I have one, too, that belonged to my late husband's father. I want to give it to my 19-year-old grandson, and just want to be able to tell him something about it. I know nothing about knives.

Welcome to Bladeforums Badgerlady.

Does the knife say "Schrade Walden" on the base (tang) of the blade(s)? If it does, then I think the knife likely tells it's own story. It's a commemorative/souvenir knife made by Schrade/Walden for a toy fair in 1926. My guess would be that it was the annual New York toy fair that takes place in February (and during Washington's birthday), and that the knife was requested by the New York Chamber of Commerce. Schrade was based in New York back in 1926, and they produced special batches of knives on request with whatever writing/engraving the customer wanted.

It would be great if you could post pictures of the knife, but you would need to use a photo hosting site like Imgur.com.

And to my fellow members, yes, I know this is an old thread.
