Toy or Tool

I thought this might be a good topic while I wait for my first Busse (Badger Attack E).

Do you use your Busse as a tool or a toy? I have a few knives and most are just toys. I really like big knives and have some, but I almost never need to chop. When I do chop most of the time it is just for fun. I don't have a problem with this, I decided a long time ago that my knives just help me enjoy life a little more. Some work on a regular basis but most do not.
I plan to use my Badger Attack as my main backpacking knife. I hope that it can cut it :-). Backpacking is when I need a knife to work, no failures in anyway. Light chopping may be needed, but if I have to chop it is because something has gone wrong with the trip. Cutting is what is must do first.

So the question is, how do you use your Busse? Toy or Tool? Maybe both.

See you on the trail!

Both!...Inside its a toy of mass distraction...Outside a tool of mass destruction .....enjoy.....

I agree, they are both! I guess I don't NEED a big knife, but I like using one. The Battle Mistress is definitely a fun big tool

I'm thinking of using my Battle Mistress to shave with in the morning.

I can't wait to go into the White Mountains of NH with it. It should clean salmon in a jiffy. Clear trails, build duck blinds, hmmmm...I'm nodding off into euphoric state.

A knife is by default a tool, it's only a weapon when a human chooses to make it so.

Trust me If you've never had a hold on a Busse before you will not be let down. The sharpest damn thing to come out of the box. And they stay sharp too. I would bet the first 11 or 12 camping trips you take you will not be needing a sharpening stone(ya know just in case the knife goes dull on the trail, yeah right). Never played with a badger but I'd have to say it will be a great light chopper.

I used my Busse's as toy for the first few months. Was affraid to scratch them. And then after the new wore off I unleashed their aweful powers on the forest behind my house. Oh it was a sad day in the lives of many trees and shrubs that day.

I have had my Badger attack for 2 years. I have done a good bit of choppin with it and carried it on my belt at work (to open boxes ;p) and its still nice and sharp. There is no better fealing than to grab that puppy and hold it...thats one of the reasons i bought it...hold a busse in your hand and your sold for life!!
