The US Marine Corps has seen a LOT LESS donation this year but an increase in requests from social service organizations for toys, toys that they don't have. They think it's because of "donor fatigue" from the tsunami and hurricane relief.

Just try to do what you can.

Thanks.

Done! Our particular firehouse, Station 4, is bursting at the seams with toys! People stop in at least a dozen times a day to drop of toys and just to say thanks.

(That's me on the far right.) :D

You're lucky - the huge warehouse here in Tacoma, WA that the Marine's usually have filled to the brim with toys has about 6 crates of toys - a huge difference from the 100+ they normally have. They're hoping for a huge rush in the next 10 days but I'm not holding my breath. I try to buy a couple things everytime I go shopping and drop them off. They interviewed a Marine Sgt. tonite and you could just see the sadness in his eyes. Our NorthWest Harvest Food Exchange is hurting bad this year, also. At Thanksgiving they only had about 30 turkeys to give to families. It's sad.

Two words for you guys:
Dollar store.
I once offered a friend of mine's son a choice between a $20-$30 lego set and $6 of misc. toys from the dollar store. He picked the dollar store, and walked away with alot more junk.
