Trace Rinaldi

Hi Trace. First of all let me say that I love your designs. I´m considering to order from you the "Tactical Kitchen Knife". The one with the longer blade and BG42. However, I´d like the blade being even longer than that. Something like 6". Otherwise, the knife is so close to a perfect camp knife it can be.
Regards dePaul!

DePaul: Well thanks for the kind words. I am a custom maker and can make your knife the way you want it, if you have any other questions dont hesitate to ask..

Take Care

dePaul, you sound just like me. I have been considering the TTKK with BG42, but a 5 inch blade. Just haven't gotten around to ordering it yet; so many knives, so little money. I guess I better do that soon.

Shrike, I have Trace's Enigma, and love it. You can see what I wrote about it over on Knife Reviews... search under "Prototype" or "Enigma". Great blade, awesome attention to detail. I highly recommend Trace. Great work, and at a good price.

Guys,

Trace makes awesome custom knives. He is a true pleasure to work with re: designing and building your knife. I have one of his TTTKK's (TTKK in Talonite) and I just love it.

AJ

I am the lucky owner of one of the "first" generation TTKK's. During that time, Trace was a pleasure to talk to and work with.

This knife has been a joy to own and use. The edge geometry and blade geometry are a very well thought out and good combination.

I would not hesitate to order additional work from Trace Rinaldi.

Stay Sharp,
Sid

Trace makes some incredible knives! I had him make me a Warhawk and an Armageddon out of Talonite. There is a picture of the two of them accompanying this reply. He should be in the process of making me a Talonite LEO to go with the above knives. How about it Trace, any word?

Well, I finally figured out the picture business and now I've created another problem. Sigh!!

I have three of Trace's knives, an Armageddon with a Chimera "parasite", an awesome combo (I'll have to post pics soon) and a Talonite TTKK (5.5" blade 5/32" talonite with polished black micarta handles and mosiac pins. Very Nice) I have another TTKK (just like the above) on order in BG42.
I have been very favorably impressed with both the quality of the knives and the service that Trace provides. He has always been very good about answering questions and has been very easy to work with.
The designs are great, the materials top notch. The grinds are great, fit and finish superb. The Paul Bos heat treat and the cryo relief are great. His micarta work is very good and the mosiac pins are pieces of art. Although his knives are not inexpensive they are a bargain when you consider the craftsmanship.
I highly recomend his work.

Only knife Trace has avaible that might possible meet my TDY deadline is a Warhawk.

Hummmmm OD green rough finished G-10 handles with Trace's signature Mosiac pins on a Warhawk with 154CM steel.

What kind of finish on the steel??? I'm leery of any coating since they tend to flake off under hard use/abuse.

Sounds just like what the Doc ordered!!!!

Anybody have any more good ideas/imput for the Warhawk or about Trace's blades???

Well thanks guys, you are all top notch as well.. In fact I HIGHLY recommend all of you to other makers as customers!!:-) You guys were and are GREAT to work with, the word of mouth you generate has been GREAT for me, and I couldnt buy advertsising like I get from you my customers.
I find Bladeforums people to be the most savvy customers, and easiest to work with by far. Again thanks for your support, and its great to hear from you all!

Charlie it wont be too much longer buddy, and you will have that Talonite set rounded off:-)

Take Care
Trace.

Greetings All,

I just wanted to add that my Tempest has withstood the test of time beautifully. I train with it at least a couple of times a week and it remains one of my favorite fighters.

Trace made a Spook out of D-2 for me some time ago, it's been my everyday carry ever since, and I'm very happy with it. Since nobody mentioned it before, let me add that his concealex sheaths are excellent, judging by the neck sheath I'm wearing right now

Take care,

How's this for a Warhawk:

Non reflective blasted or satin finish

OD green sheath

I read a thread where sombody had the handles made the same color as their beret and this is a kick butt idea

My beret is a dark blue and if dark blue micarta/G-10 is avaible that's what I want. Of course the handles must have Trace's mosaic pins
