Some pics from Day one of TrackRock Spring 2015 event.

Google Track Rock Campground. Located in the Appalachian Mountains of N. Georgia not far from the Appalachian Trail! The 'hammer in' is held in the campground's barn which in itself is a walk thru time.

Andy grinding 60 blades (next week's batch). This is he regular Friday work load. So while everyone is waiting and nail-biting for the FBF thread .. Andy is already starting on next week's batch of knives. He put together a 'portable' KMG grinder and went to mountains to work.

Phillip aka "Vance" getting some instruction from Carl aka Crex. This pic was right before Vance broke the thongs and scored the first boo-boo for the weekend.

If you guys are not familiar with 'crex' .. he seems to have figured out the riddle of steel .. and leather.

Start them young! The TrackRock hammer in centers on teaching the diminishing art of forging to future generations

Is it Beer-thirty yet? Andy showing the multiple uses of a Fiddleback Forge knife, 'bottle opener' .. and then off to the cabin.

Let's start a fire! It requires 3 or more participants. :)

Phillip goes old skool and gets it started with a tender bundle ignited by a ferro rod he got from swonut.
It happened so fast I missed getting a picture of it. :(

Who's making dinner!?!?! .. and get rid of that junky knife found in the kitchen drawer.
Everyone breaks out their Fiddlebacks for dinner prep!

Man, that looks so fun. Thanks for sharing the great pics Bud! I almost felt like I was there for a minute.

That's awesome. Thanks Bud. Can't wait to see what the rest of the weekend brings.

If the opportunity presents itself, can you get a closeup of this case with the glass open?
That's a really cool collection.

Thanks for sharing Bud, looks like you guys & gals are off to a rockin start at Track Rock. Almost like being there......almost !

Had to miss this go around for the first time in 10yrs., so it's great to see photos of everybody. The young fellows working hot steel are two good examples of early starts. The taller one holding the tongs is Scout and he's been at Track Rock forging now for almost half his 14yrs. He can forge a knife better than most guys three times hi age. Very dedicated. The one pounding away has been at the Hammerin almost from birth. Great to see these youngsters getting a good start.

It appears that the Fiddleback crew is enjoying the time and making the most of it! Good shots, Bud!

That display case is full of minis that Carl does. Each one is a copy of a full size knife and sheath. Each one is hand forged from correct steel with the same handle material. They are usually 1"- 1/2" in length. The sheaths are all fully functional. Very cool! My wife has a 1 1/2" full guard, ivory handled bowie that is her special treasure.

Thanks Bud for the effort! I can't wait to see additional pics. I wanted to take the trip down from Michigan but my daughter gets married in a month so it wasn't possible this year. This event is already on my calender for next year!

The next Track Rock event will be in the fall, probably last weekend of Sept., so try and put that one on the calendar. Each one is better than the last and always a great time.

Rick Lowe .. you were missed. Your forge 'spot' stayed empty the entire weekend. :(

I forgot you upload the next installment of The Red Hammer. This time our Ginger Superhero is slinging gumbo.

Pretty cool. Some crazy looking blades on that CRex table. I love the dagger put up for Super Ben. Serious work ethic on Andy's part bringing a portable grinder to keep production flowing.

Jus sos ya no.........Fall Trackrock HI 2015 is set for Sept 25/26.

"Gumbo Slinging Ginger Superhero", heard that phrase a couple of times this past weekend. Is that why you guys run off and left him at my cabin after midnight?
