Although I’m a longstanding Internet citizen, I‘m brand spanking new to both this Forum and to the/a ’Forums’ format in general.

I have virtually no experience with a community such as ‘ours’..[ my one exception, a ’Bull Mastiff ’Forum’ which almost immediately proved to be riddled with ’Personal Security’ and intrusive code issues].

My first ‘stops’ here on ‘BladeForums’ have been as an attempt to accumulate and assemble Member’s and Administrator’s published technical wisdom [ code explanations, glitches, housekeeping hints, and etiquette] in order to compile and print off a personal ‘User's Manual‘.

In searching historical posts, what ‘indicator’ do I key on to know if I’ve visited a particular thread ?

I hope my question is simple and makes sense. Commonly, in popular ‘Browsers’ any ‘link’ you visit in a session ‘changes color’.

Is there anything like that, iconographically, or ‘text’ wise to let me ‘visualize' the links I’ve visited in any given session or moreover 'historically' any and all links I’ve visited ‘world to date’..?

Please forgive my ignorance and help me out.

I’ve abstracted the ‘Dealer List‘, notes on security issues posting pix, and password re-set.

Is there a definitive ‘place’ I can visit where all technical ‘glitches’, ‘gotchas’ and WIP stuff is up to date?

I’m hoping I don’t have to review and ‘proof’ ‘our’ sites superseded historical notes but instead deal directly with late breaking news..

Thanks a lot for your consideration, please advise..df

The short answer:
In searching historical posts, what ‘indicator’ do I key on to know if I’ve visited a particular thread ?

The thread in question will not be highlighted in BOLD text once you've visited it. However, if a new comment has been posted since your list visit, it will be in BOLD yet again.

For tech issues, look at the blue line on top.
Click Forum Categories
In the drop down box, Click Tech Support

You can subscribe to a thread, and get a notice when a new post is entered.
The gray line just under the thread’s name contains Thread Tools. Click it.
In drop box Click Subscribe to this Thread.
Follow instructions.

To check your subscribed threads, on the upper right Click Settings.

Hi DEFGRAB -

Certainly a methodical way of settling in, welcome to Blade Forums!

Your browser cookie expiration is what determines how long the links in the thread lists will be formatted as "visited" links. It depends on which style you are using in the forum, but generally speaking threads that you have visited show up as normal highlight (non bold font) and threads you have not visited, or visited threads with new posts will show up as bold font in the list.

I typically use the search function and just search for my forum name, which brings up a list of all of the threads in which I have participated (posted), and the bolded threads are threads in which someone has posted since I last posted in the thread.

You can also use the "new posts" link on the top menu bar of the forum, which shows you all new posts since the last time you visited as recorded by your cookie.

Welcome and enjoy yourself.

best

Man O Man..I just composed a response and it 'disappeared..

So..repeater..

I have 'visited' several 'Forum' topic headings and seem to get a visual' of entry's that include both 'Bold'ed' and 'Un-Bolded' 'Headings..?' even though 'I've' never 'been there'..?

I'm trying hard and I think ..soon..[ as 'soon' as I can figure it out..ha] I'll up-grade my membership status so I can navigate more effectively.

Thanks' a lot for helping out..df
