Check eBay nr. 6628259225. The bid is already in excess of what an Ireland Barlow generally brings at auction, BUT this one is a sample from Irv Trachtenberg's collection and will have a certificate of authenticity to prove up it's extraordinary value. If you laid two of them side by side WITHOUT the VERY VALUABLE and "totally believable" certificate and then turned 360 degrees, which one would be the most valuable? Which would be the real Trachtenberg? What makes the name Trachtenberg attached to any knife, other than one that would be rare without his name so desireable? Dime a dozen certificates apparently can work miracles. Just NOT with me.

Paul,
If you save your money, you may get to bid on the sample case when it is empty.Of course there are probably some eBay hucksters out there, scouring flea markets for old cases like that, with the ability to fake the inscription.
Of course they couldn't provide a COA signed by James Parker.

I have a J.P COA I will sell to the higher offer. Do I hear an opening offer of a thou? It is gen-u-whine, and comes with my own signed Codger COA to prove it!
