Tractor pulls! - redneck or hick?

I totally miss tractor pulls. I don't know if that makes me a redneck or a hick.

My favorites are turbines, Allison aicraft and Diesel+propane. I don't care that much about ethanol V-8's. Though I did know a guy, who's names ecapes me at the moment, that used to run 6 V-8's on his tractor.
 
They are FUN!

Better is to hook a tow cable to the bumper of two cars and see who pulls who... :D
 
How about combine demolition derbies? They were pretty rare a few years ago, but I notice that they're catching on now.

Had to find this site again. Some good pics of dueling combines.

I love tractor pulls!
I think my favorite class is what they've been calling farm or agricultural tractor around here. They limit you to a stock block and one turbo. Those guys still get a hell of a lot out of those tractors, but its actual tractors :)
I love em all though!
Then you got trucks too. I like all the 4 wheel drive classes especially deisel. And semi's are tops, ya just can't beat em :D

Stock pulls are the most fun sometimes though. Thats when **** gets broke :D Guys get their trucks weighted wrong and get em to hoppin down the track and then drive shafts go flyin! YEEEHAAAW! Gotta love it. The best part is when they get out of the truck and look down at the damage while everybody cheers. Then they flip the crowd off like its not their own damn fault and stomp off the track :D
 
Man, when I lived in Indiana, these were the BEST! It seems the midwest folks know their stuff when it comes to tractor pulls. Gotta love the solid black smoke shooting out of twin stacks!! LOL...yeah, hick or redneck, it sure is fun!!! :p
 
Tractor pulls are one of few auto comps I find entertaining.

Lawncross is another.

This is an important question, do you buy yur date a bag of popcorn and go to Bojangles after? If you say yes you can consider yourself to be called "sugardaddy". If'n you don't, you are just another "bubba".

Jeff Foxworthy started his whole red neck comedy thing in Detroit! As he noticed that a bowling alley in detriot had vallet parking.

I see more toothless 35 y/o grandmothers in the city than elsewhere,there are more cars held togather with duct tape and bungee cords in the hood than the sticks...

Once we went for smoke from a house. A guy was burning wood in a 55 gallon drum,in his KITCHEN! In the middle of the city.

Red necks are not bound by lines on a map.
 
I remember going to a tractor pull back in the late 70's, in of all places... the Chicago Stadium! Lots of confederate flags, tatoos, missing teeth, leather, chewin' terbaccy.... and that was just the women! :eek: I never knew that there was that many rednecks in/near chicago. Great time though!
 
Love the pulls. Haven't been to one since HS. They still fire me up to watch them on tv.

Does anyone remember "THE BEAST"? It was a blue and silver K5 Blaser and was track driven. This was before the track driven Big Foot. That was BADAZZ! It mainly starred at mud racing, and car crushing, but it was a featured guest at many tractor pulls as well. I also remember when Grave Digger was just getting started.

That would make you a hick. Rednecks love the demolition derby and hicks go for the pulls. Hell...I like both!
