Hello:

I have a ZT 0562 for sale, and locally I offered it for trade for a George Tichbourne Skinning Knife.

I have no idea if this knife is worth the trade? I am going to try and sell the skinner here on the forum, so I'm wondering if I'm further ahead trying to move the ZT or the
Tichbourne? In other words is the Tichbourne worth the trade?

Thanks to all of you with way more knowledge than I!!

George Tichbourne is no longer with us sadly, so it stands to reason that a nice example of his would be more likely to appreciate, but would probably also be harder to sell...

I think it really depends on your goal. Do you want something of value to sit on and wait for the right buyer, or do you want cash in hand quickly?

I would most likely try and sell her here so I was just wondering if it would be a good trade as I'm just sure of the value of the Tichbourne?

So you are looking to trade your ZT and flip the knife you gain from the trade for more profit than selling the ZT would offer?

Yes, I don't see anything wrong with getting the best deal I can get as long as both parties are happy with what they are getting. I'm sure lots of people here pick up knives cheap in their local areas and move them along here to other interested parties?

No, I don't either.
As long as both parties are square with the trade and know what they are getting/doing, then there is nothing wrong with it. No need to feel defensive. I was just trying to phrase it to answer the question asked above.

LOL, wasn't being defensive, just answering your question and just typing "yes" seemed a little impertinent to me! Thanks for your input!!

Cheers

Syntax is so hard to pick up on the internet...
Italics should mean sarcasm
Bold should mean defensive/abrasive
Underlined should be reserved for emphasis

This system would make it much easier to understand everyone else. (See?)

I'm not able to see whom exactly you're conversing with. Regardless, there is absolutely nothing wrong, with trying to get the best possible deal you can get. I'd prefer to turn a profit any day of the week, in lieu of losing money.

To answer your OP: trades can be very risky. I don't know very much about value's on the secondary market for Tichbourne's knives. If this were me, I'd probably just try and sell my ZT here first. Whatever you decide, best of luck, Moleng1! :)
