Trade value on Kephart in AEB-L?

There's some good info in here. :)

I wonder what the hrc is for CPK aeb-l? Aeb-l at higher hardness is an excellent still with toughness, good edge retention, and fine grain structure. 61-63 hrc seems ideal.
I don't know what he was running the Kephart at, but he referenced something in AEBL at 60.5 - See

Trade values, imo a true constraint when it comes trading. Hate when Im asked that,,if you have what Im after Im often willing to trade away something worth significantly more in order to get what I want. If i mention its true trade value though it will often put a hault to things,,shame. Msrp is a good starting point,,add a few bucks if discontinued.

From what I've seen, I'm not sure there is much of a difference in trade value between Carothers with AEB-L and D3V. People may debate the merits of one vs the other and have their preferences, but at the end of the day, it's a Carothers, and they don't tend to last long on the open market, either way.

AEB-L is good stuff, probably tougher than most of us would ever need. Easy to keep sharp. I was completely surprised by the performance of that steel. It’s kind of difficult to gauge a value on a Kephart on AEB-l . Considering that secondary market tends to always be higher than factory drop prices ( availability ).. I’m no expert but I’d say trade value on Carothers AEB-L Kephart anywhere from high $200 to mid $300 depending on condition. Nice knives.
