Traded my bodega, for this....

SO that bodega I JUST GOT, I ended up trading it. Never even go to use the darn thing.

The reason i agreed to this following trade was mainly because I realized need means of transportation here in CA more than i need a sweet n sexy knife in my pocket nobody has heard of or would fully appreciate. Plus I cannot afford (don't want to pay for) a vehicle and the other costly things attached to it. It was a bit of a heart break to part with my new found grail. But on the bright side i did come out with something equally cool, on a different scale.

So this was the trade:

the trade is fair (price wise), I can take this with me to my next command n use it there........ but i will still miss the knife i never got to use haha.

pretty sweet trade if you ask me! :D

I also traded my Bodega away, albeit for another knife. Kinda wish I still had it :)

Let's not turn this into a Tour de France thread.

It was a practical trade I think. You can still buy and own a high quality folder that you can actually use, and you have environmentally friendly transportation.

Honestly, N690 makes the price unacceptable no matter how you look at it. I really don't understand where the $600 to $800 price tag becomes reasonable when the cutting part of a cutting tool is made of steel that can be readily had for less than $200, and from manufacturers that offer lifetime warranties - something that may be offered but cannot be guaranteed to be fulfilled by an individual or very small business.

I feel like Bodegas have a huge bubble around them that is just waiting to burst. A $600 knife should have more going for it than novel grinds, flipping action, and lockup. That can be had from several manufacturers with better steel and lower prices. I know I'm being picky on steels, but we are talking about the part that cuts on a cutting tool.

I'm glad you got something comparatively valuable out of it. It was probably the right time to do so.

Good trade IMO. Pretty sweet looking bike! And come on Rev, they don't ride mountain bikes in the Tour De France.

Actually, you are right in a way. There is no double that there is a Bubble & hype for the Bodega & the price point is high for sure, like many other makes we all know and love, hate or what have you.
When i purchased it part of the decision was for the name, but the price tag for me was justify able because it had all the things i like the knives i owned and have owned, plus some visual aspects that appealed to me. the steel is hit or miss for me too, Its better than some and worse than others, but it would have done great for what i would be using it for. So that was not a huge deal breaker for me

I think that's a great trade, I assume it's not your only knife and nobody likes to have to walk everywhere.

I saw one of those up for sale on the gadgets and gear thread a year or so ago and spent several days thinking about buying it, it's a sweet looking bike that has a cool factor all it's own.
