Well, I finally traded away my Sebenza for a lockback folder, as I had a bit of trouble operating the framelock with my left hand.

Since I do not have any lockback knives, I decided to take a chance and trade for a Ron Lake lockback. I'm not very familiar with Ron's folders, but this one that I got appears to be great quality, so I'm thinking I came out about even.

Anyone have any opinions on Ron Lake folding knives?

Ok, I am a little confused here. Did you trade a Sebenza straight across for a Lake folder? Ron Lake is one of the most collectable makers out there and his knives are selling for a small fortune. Most of what I see sells for over $2500.00.

I had the chance to handle a Lake folder many years ago and was very impressed with the quality. In my opinion, you have done very well for yourself.

I think it is probably a Lake/Chen collaboration sold by CAS Iberia. I've seen them around, but rarely. I think they have Stag inlays on the handle. If I am thinking of the same knife, it is really nice looking and great quality. They usually sell on ebay for around $250, I think, but am not positive.

Here's a pic I found.

Well Mike, it looks like you got me. When I saw your name associated with this thread I figured you would know that a Lake folder was worth way more than a Sebenza. Now I know that you were just kibitzing. :p
