Is anyone in a Trade? What knife do you carry for everyday use?

I've worked in an electrical wholesaler for the passed four years, and I've finally decided to jump into the trade myself. I start in the new year.

I am looking online for some folding knifes. The knife will primarily be used as a daily tool for basic cutting needs, not as a wire stripper or anything.

I was thinking something like a Delica with an Emerson wave would be great. Please give me other ideas and recommendations... especially from others in a trade. (Pictures of beaten up knives are also welcome!!)

What I want in a knife:
- $20-60 (there are chances of it getting lost, so I don't want that to sting as much as it really needs too)
- Doesn't have to be pretty (plastic is okay!)
- Durable
- Hopefully looks more like a tool rather a weapon
- Delica or "normal size"
- Pocket Clip

I am a journeyman electrician. For the past few months I have been carrying a partially serrated spyderco military @ work and love it. I certainly dont need that much knife but I just like having it on me. In my opinion the best knife to carry in the field is the full flat grind spyderco endura. That was my edc work knife for a long time and it performed like a champ. I have also carried a delica and while it is a little smaller than I like it is more than enough knife for what you will be doing in the field. I have used flat ground spyderco delicas/enduras and the waved versions and have found the flat ground(not waved) version to be better for me. The waved knives are cool to play with but the grind on them is a little thick and makes the knife not as good at slicing. Just remember to use your knife for what it was designed for. I see guys destroy knives all the time because they are too lazy to walk 20' and pick up the tool they need. Also, pick up a good razor knife and a pack of good blades. Your pocket knife is ok for stripping small wire but when you get to 250 kcmil or bigger a razor knife really is the right tool for the job. Good luck w/ your career change!
