**this is only an inquiry, hence my posting it here and not in the For Sale forum...

how much of a $ difference would there be when trading a brand new ASH 1, for a NEW (or very near to) Natural Outlaw E? i just ordered an ASH 1 from Busse, and i'm just not liking it (visually) as much as the NO E. not to mention the 6" size is more suitable for what i need it for.
the problem is finding one w/ the green handle and black blade, like the ASH1 i ordered.

can anybody shed some light into what i'm considering? :o

for reference...
this: ASH 1

for this: NO E (so sexy)

thanks

If you think thick is sexy, you might re-consider;)

Otherwise NO-e's on the aftermarket are more expensive than the ASH1's straight from Busse (approx. 400 USD against 330 USD)

yea, i noticed the price when searching for them... hmm... i don't really think thicker is better. i just don't know, it's my first Busse!!!

just out of curiosity, what do you mean my the "thick" comment??

The regular Ash1's are .320"
NO-e's are .250"

A lot of HOG's like their blades FAT:thumbup:

.250 is plenty fat for most though, so don't sweat it. I had a NO-E that I traded and wish I had it back :( One of the most comfortable and useful blade sizes made in my opinion. As for trade, who knows! You may find an even swap, but you'll probably need to offer a little extra on your end. As long as you both come away happy, good deal!

I find the E-handle to be absolutely butt-ugly.

But it sure is comfy. Haven't used my super-mirror-polished NO-E yet, wishing I had never sold Hammy my SH-E user, and fondling often my ZTBM.

A lot of times it just depends on the market and/or how you feel about it. Just look at the crazy prices the HR and SFNO are commanding. Currently the NO-E seems to be a little more $$$ wise.

If it were me, I'd wait until you have the ASH 1 in hand, it feels better than it looks (and I think it looks pretty good).

IMHO, you will have a hard time trading your ASH-1 when you get it for a NO-E. Everyone who wants an ASH will have probably already ordered one. There is a NO-E on the Exchange right now. Just buy that, and call the Busse shop to see if you can cancel your order. When the ASH do start shipping, some will certainly be avalable on the Exchange then, or later from the Busse Company Store.

i do not have the ASH 1 i possession yet. i was only going on the way it looks in comparison.
i really like the handle style on the NO E... the way it kinda drops/ curves downward at the butt is very nice, imo.
i've been doing a lot of thinking and i won't cancel my order yet. the total price i'm paying for the ASH 1 will be almost $400 (w/ the Magnum g10 handle/ shipping), and i haven't seen an NO E for that price yet... unless i missed one. they seem to be quite a bit more!?

If your patient and dont mind a user an NO-E will pop up around 400 bills sooner or later. Ive seen them, just got to be patient. I too was crossed btween the two but given the opportunity for a fatter one Ill take that.More INFI for your buck IMO

trades really depend on the 2 people trading. there are times when someone has something that normally would sell for 700$ that they are willing to trade for something that normally would sell for only 400$ because the lower cost blade is temporarily impossible to get, or because they obtained the 700$ blade for 400$ intially, or because the money difference isn't as important to them as the blades usability.

you could try putting up a wtt thread in the trade forum and hope someone picks up on it in the next few months (it may take that long). if I had an no-e I would trade it for the thicker ash-1's in a heart beat, but thats because I don't like the e-handles.

they have been going for between 400-500, so some may be okay with a straight across, some may want extra money. you never know until you try :)

and as shigawire4sure points out, you can always sell the ash-1 and use the money to try to buy one of the for sale noe's...

Just get both, you wont know till you hold them what you like better. I never thought I would like the HR....but I love it. Buy both and you will always be able to sell them for what ya paid for them.
