With all the INFI that will be amassed in Atlanta next weekend, I can't help but think that there has to be some trading and selling going on. Since funds are limited, I'm a firm believer in the mantra "INFI in, INFI out". It it's kosher, I hope to be able to do some trading or maybe buy or sell a blade or two. I just wondered how this usually works?

I've wondered about that too. It might be frowned upon if somebody sees money changing hands inside the convention hall, but outside it should be fine. It would be very cool if somebody organized a "swap meet" where folks with stuff they were willing to trade could meet. It would be especially cool for those who are going, who don't have much money right now, but have plenty of stuff to trade.

.

The "Swap Meet" basically happens in the "Pit" at the Waverly after the show each night. I have seen lots of buying and selling going on inside the show, but don't have any "For Sale" or "Wanted to buy" signs on you while your walking around. Just be discrete and all will be cool. ;)

I don't know about inside the show hall itself, but there is plenty of action in the "Pit", the bar/lobby area of the Waverly hotel. People just sit at a table and spread their knives out for display. I bought a necker from Dan Koster as he was making the rounds Thursday night, working the crowd for business. The Busse crew tends to move out in front of the hotel, by the fountain, so we can mooch Jerry's cigars. :D

Most Hogs have an extra blade or two with them, more trading than selling though...

The only Busse stuff that would sell (from an individual) would be harder to come by stuff (oldies, rare pieces, etc...) because the Busse table will have too many nice options readily available.

So bring your goodies to trade, that's what I will do :)

Wish I was going I would like a crack at the BUSSE booth and also Jerry Hossom booth. However, living in CA makes it difficult to make it out...

If anyone wants to stop by either booth as a proxy let me know:)

Hmm. I'll be staying at the Waverly. Look for the oldest, most poorly dressed man. Maybe I should bring some steel.

Yes, and make sure it has one of your killer convex's on it, and we will do business..... LOL

Sort of a "good way" to do trades etc during the day is to be sure you aren't in front of someone's table/booth. I often step outside the hall if someone is interested in "items from a personal collection".

Actually that is GREAT advice ---- it's just bad form to make a sale or trade as an individual while standing in front of a table that someone else (maker or dealer) paid 500 dollars for

Good call Oku

Sounds like good advice and information, guys. I never did any private sales at Blade, but I do have a few surplus blades I might bring. None are Busses, though. :D

Yes. If you walk around with signs, Blade will approach you and ask you to remove them. Don't ask me how I know this....:foot:

ROTFLMAO...only you Aaron!

Very good advice from Oku and standard courtesy protocol at any show, BLADE or otherwise.

Good point Oku. I'll definitely step outside to do any trading.

If any of you saw the movie Yes Man, that scene where homeland security approaches him in the airport, it was something like that.
