This is for Mark.
What are you doing this weekend !
I am drywalling the old part of the shop.
WHAT A FREAKIN MESS!:jerkit:

Bedrest.............

I never realized how lucky I was to be able to work. I'll be watching Deb cut the grass.

My dog will be watching me watch Deb cut the grass.

Thanks Darrel :D

Hope those pain killers are helping you out Mark. If you're able to sit down while typing on the puter, they must be doing something. Overtime tomorrow, planting in the garden if it doesn't rain too hard. Get to clear brush next weekend, and put my Razorback Knives camp knife and Swamp Rat Battle Rat to the big test! :)

And maybe cap a few groundhogs to boot!

I will be casting some copper and bronze to make a couple new machinist hammers. I lost the old one and I could buy one for less then $20 but why? I should have the handle finished up tonight. I am cutting it on the lathe from a piece of vine maple from off of my property.

Melting crap is always fun and interesting.

Get well Mark!!!!!

NECKA Hammerin Saturday....a full day of drinking and playing with dangerous objects and tools.

Saturday night: Recover from Hammerin

Sunday: Shop work....finally have enough knives HT'd for my upcoming show and need to start finishing them one by one.

New workshop building is done (pictures here). But it still needs a LOT of work before I can use it. I may just spend the weekend sitting in my new building with a big grin on my face though :D

Have to pick up steel table tops tomorrow AM and more work on a knife for a knifemaking competition my blacksmith guild is having next month...

I just got done driving the entire length of New York AND Massachusetts so I can eat octopus and watch IG get drunk!

Tired right now, but still as excited as hell to be at the HI!

Can't wait!

Took today off to sleep and do a bit more on the two blades I grumbled about heat treating earlier this month. Made a crude mortised tang handle to hold them while grinding. Why didn't I think of that earlier? Much easier to hold than the tang itself.

Tomorrow I'll take the blades and the hardness tester to the HI and ask for help in between drinks :D

Sunday I may do the final simple finish work on the blades (nothing fancy -- they're just paring knives for some hands on testing) try to make a couple of real handles.

I just finished reconfiguring my KMGs this week with nice new VFDs and fresh stickers and everything and I'd love to spend tomorrow in grindin some knives, but it isn't going to happen.

Instead, I'll be taking my Champion Alaskan Malamute; Blade, to the America's Family Pet Expo in Costa Mesa. This event takes the whole Orange County Fairgrounds and isn't a place to take your pet, but an Expo where you can see prime examples of all sorts of pets and learn about them. We will be exhibiting with the Southern California Alaskan Malamute Club and be the official representatives for the breed. Blade won't be the only Malamute on display as all the excitement and the huge crowd wears the dogs out so there's a few dogs and only two or three are on display and interacting with the public at any given time (LOTS of petting). You can see Blade here:

Last year the event drew nearly 80K people over three days. It's an amazing event and anyone in the Los Angeles or Southern California area that lokes animals would have a blast.

As for my part, I'll get to spend some time sitting with my dog at my feet and have hundreds of women come to our both and ask me if they can pet my dog. I give permission of course, and then they neel down in front of me and pet my dog. It's an interesting phenomenon :)

Maybe Sunday I'll get to play on my refreshed grinders:)

I hope your back feels better Mark, I hate back pain!

Well I have work to catch up on in the shop here this weekend, probably clean the stalls and ride a couple horses too. Might go into the fairgrounds and start servicing all the tractors and equipment so I can get busy mowing and cleaning stuff up. Gonna work nights and weekends there this summer.
Don't know what else I'll get into. Might go on a quick off road trip with the guys from work tomorrow. I've been helping one of them rebuild his jeep and now that its about done he's wanting to put it through its paces.
Right now though, I think I'm going to bed. Its been a long week:yawn:

get well soon mark.
