Buryats - one of the small peoples of Russia, akin to the Mongols. The knife maker and sculptor Zhigzhit Bayashkhalanov hails from Buryatia, but now lives and works in the city of St. Petersburg. The combination of these two professions is a bit like Stephen Olszewski, who is also a knife maker and a sculptor. Zhigzhit Bayashkhalanov creates traditional Buryat Knives.
