Hey there everybody, I have decided that I need (want) a new folding fishing knife:). I have also decided that I want to go traditional carbon route. Be aware this is not a sole fillet knife, however, I would like it to be able to perform in a pinch. What do you have/use?

Thanks.

Used this Imperial once or twice (I don't fish very often)...worked pretty well for me.

I've got an Opinel fillet knife with an olive wood handle that I like for fish use. I don't fillet, but like to butterfly the fish. he thin blade of the Opinel does a great job of getting all the fine bones out of the meat. Very fine tip and thin edge. Just keep the pivot greased and there's no problem.

Fishing knives are great. I like the old ones, but I believe case makes one. Bigger, slightly, than the old Imperials.

Seems like a good ole yella CV Case trapper would work well. Keep the clip blade razor sharp for fish flesh, and the spey blade for cutting bait, rope, etc. Around water is where you'll really appreciate the Case's stainless backsprings.

Check out some flea markets, there are plenty of old ones with carbon still out there.
Picked up this old Hammer brand for $5

This is the only one I have. I think it's neat that the scaler is built into the blade. I guess that was done to save money because it's a pretty cheap knife. It's a Camillus #5, they're easy to find and cheap, I paid 5 bucks for this one.
