I am convinced that this is a valid medical condition. After reading the sodbuster thread I decided to put my Jr. in CV into the pocket for a little EDC ride today. I started thinking about it and this forum actually drives my purchasing and EDC habits. I think I'm a sick man. What's more I'm curious about how many of you suffer from the same symptoms. May be an epidemic brewing:eek::eek::eek:

I do know that many many years ago when I stopped reading gun, knife, motorcycle, magazines, my buying habits really fell dramaticly. Without reading the rags telling me what the latest and greatest was, I felt very content to be under equipted with my old stuff.

+1

agreed jk.

JK, I've done the same as far as the knife, motorcycle and gun rags go. In fact I don't think I have any subscriptions currently.

That said, I had a hiatus of a year or two (dare I say moratorium?) where I didn't purchase but maybe a factory knife or two...

...but the strain of this particular "bug" is so virulent that even an apparent remission offers only false hope. ;)

This forum is EVIL, EVIL I say. First it was the Opinel, decent knife, it did what I needed, but, NO, I couldn't just stop there.

Along came the SOG with it's assisted opening, then I had to see if the grass was indeed greener over in the Benchmade axis lock camp, then the kershaw, just to see if it's AO measured up the the SOG... and just when I thought I was satisfied with my small knife collection, I found this forum.

I started with a Rough Rider, and then I just had to see what I was missing so I bought a case. Then I began wondering which pattern was best for me, so I bought a Rough Rider in every pattern that looked promising, and a case in a couple that I really liked.

Who knows what this madness will lead me to? One thing is certain, however, my bank account will have a alot less money in it than if I had never found this cursed forum! :D

Welcome to the camp BBQ.

It only gets worse but, look at the bright side. You could have stumbled into a Beanie Baby or Elvis commemorative plate forum. :p

In the past few months, I've come into a small micarta Sebenza, Benchmade 710, Benchmade Ritter mini Grip, and still, still, throw my Queen trapper or Camillus demo in my pocket.

Nothing can compare to a good slippy in the pocket! I've got a Microtech UMS and an old Kutmaster in my pocket right now, guess which one actually got used.

Next you will buy roll-ups for storage, then boxes, then have a room
dedicated to knives. You'll see other items that have knives on them,
or resemble knives in some small minute detail that no one else can see.

Your credit card company will phone you when you
make a NON-knife purchase to make sure your card isn't stolen. (this actually happened)

When you get birthday gifts, they will be knife oriented.
Your friends introduce you as "The Knife Guy".

BTW, nice nick.

Good luck,

mike

I have the same problem someone starts talking about a certain knife or kind of knife and I start hunting. next thing I know Im loaded up with knives Im not sure how or why they got here. Its definately a disease and I got it bad.- Joel
