Traditional frame/pattern reference

Some recent threads have got me searching and I have come up empty handed. It seems we have no thread or guide that I can find to showcase the different frames used for traditional knives. This may be tough to pull off but lets give it a try.

Blade configurations are not important. Handle materials, bare ended, shadow patterns make no difference. I am strictly after the different frame or pattern shapes. From maker to maker dimensions can change, I understand that. If you are a collector of a certain pattern and can show the*variations between makers that would be great. My goal with this thread is to have a nice reference. I ask that you look through the thread first and try not to double post a frame or pattern. My collection is very limited but I will attempt to start us off. And by all means if say your dog leg looks different from one someone posts, please share. Their is no right or wrong here :)

One of the biggest problems is that not all the makers of old used the same names. Some went with the closed length and nothing else. Some used a descriptor of the main blade, some used a pattern name but often it is not what the next maker would name it. There have been some good discussions on BF about some particular patterns, 1/2 Congress, Pen and Cattle come to mind. Worth searching for them. Here are some examples:

Holley 1904

Almost no clue except it has a Wharncliffe blade. No size, no pattern, nothing really except a number.

Another Holley

Ever hear of a Shiner pattern before? No mention of anything else.

Keen Kutter 1930

This page is from the front page of the Cutlery Catalog so you at least have clue but it still leaves much to the imagination. Notice the Gun Stock Jack. I think most of us today would call that a Coffin Jack and they show nothing that looks like what we would call a Gun Stock today.

Wostenholm Pre-1890

How many patterns can you identify? Note the page identifying the pictures. All it says is 4 Blade Knives!
