Traditional German Hunting Knife Question

Hi All,

My son in Milwaukee asked if my wife would make a sheath for a knife that a friend in a German men's chorus has. It looks old and appears to be a traditional German pattern, but I don't know what a traditional sheath would look like. Anyone out there know? I hope this is the right forum for this. Shift me over to a more appropriate place, if necessary and with my apologies.

It's a Nicker
In deed a traditional German hunting knife.
It's traditional use was to stab a deer in the neck where the skull and neck bones connect, to kill it off.
South German Lederhosen actualy have a pocket on the side to hold a Nicker. It is part of the traditional wear.
They were also used a lot in the WW1 trenches.

Thank you very much. I guess I didn't expect such a direct, accurate, and helpful reply so quickly. I should have known better. My wife may have to do some research on the construction of that sort of sheath. She has never made one like that before. Thanks again.
