I was wondering if there was any way to work with natural traditional handles to reduce their likelihood of shrinking or warping. I thought maybe you could add mineral oil to wood? Any guidelines out there?
Assuming that natural tradional handles are wood- I know you can buy stabilized wood that already has an epoxy resin pulled into the wood under vacuum. That minimizes swelling and warping. Probably a bit intensive and $$$ for the weekend warrior. When the Spyderco Bushcraft came out with the birch handle and they all cracked, I saw that some guys tried to rub superglue into the wood to try to stabilze it. Seemed like it held up for some.
