Traditional Italian knives?

I've been hanging around here for a bit now and have learned about knives from many different countries. One country that seems to be less than common is Italy. Are there any Italian makers of traditoanls past or current worth checking out? I have seen some of the current Fox and Lion Steel offerings. These seem nice and well made but not very traditional. So what else is out there?

There are a few from Sicily, liccasapuni, Rasolu, sanfratellano, cuteddu, there are others but they are not coming to mind right now, if I remember I'll post.

That's a good start, thanks. Looks like I have research to do tonight. The Maserin knives look nice too.

My Grandmother and Aunts recently visited the old homestead and returned with this:

It's not the best quality knife I own but it came from a Sicilian, who bought it in Sicily. Doesn't get more traditional than that.
Oh, and in case anyone's wondering what the description in Italian means, it's a knife designed to cut soap. That's right soap. How many mafia-soap puns can you think of?

That's really nice. I like the curve of the "tail" with the clip blade. My family is from the Calabria area.

My dad's side is Calabrian. My mother's Sicilian. Basically I'm the most stubborn person anyone has ever met. That is until they meet my sister.

For a budget model, look at the Falcon knives. I have several of their manual stilettos, which are very nice and more than suitable for most EDC uses, and I have a "fishtail" on the way that I scored on the 'bay.
Here's a crappy picture from the seller... These come in two sizes: 20cm and 25cm, and are available in horn, stag, and olive wood.

Nice, the Falcon line looks promising. I've been thinking about a stiletto pattern for a long time. My father is a fan and is like to get him a decent one.

I have a lockback made by viper knives that is really nice quality. It's a bit heavy for edc but it does get some carry time in my coat pocket during the winter.

My country offers quite a variety of patterns when it comes to traditional knives, so I'l give you a few pattern names to check out.
Stiletto, Senese, Bergamasco, Maremmano (in the two variants, the leaf shaped one and the more triangular one), Zuava, Mozzetta, Gobbo, and from my island, Pattadese and Arburesa.
And Carl, I'm afraid that the knife in JD's picture is a slipjoint :p

Thank you Fausto! Now I have tons of knives to drool over. The hardest part is sourcing most of them in the US. I'm going to have to talk with my cousin before his next visit. :)

@Jackknife: Almost all the folders made in Scarperia are slipjoints or (the really big ones) lockers.

Here's my Falcon fish tail stiletto, which showed up on Good Friday (convenient, since that's one day to have fish.... ;) ).
I really like the Falcon knives I have -- several stilettos, and this fish. Might be my favorite non-American brand.

Very cool. I found quite a few on that big site. I'm thinking about getting the traditional stiletto in olivewood to start. Thanks for sharing the fish tail pics.
